Este documentário segue de perto a Festa do Castelo, um momento muito importante na vida da comunidade monsantina.
O filme revela fragmentos da vida de algumas personagens, procurando mostrar o lugar das memórias, os conceitos de tradição, a importância da diversão através do canto, do jogo e da dança. As personagens encenam muitos momentos, mas a verdadeira encenação já estava lá – as suas tradições só se realizam em absoluto pela encenação.
Procura-se mostrar que esta gente velha não se importa de partilhar o seu tempo nem se importa de explicar o que dá significados à sua própria vida. Mas esta gente não compreende nem aceita que outros queiram usurpar as suas tradições. É a nossa tradição! Este é uma espécie de clamor de quem não quer perder mais vida além da que o tempo lhe tira.

This documentary follows closely the Feast of the Castle, a very important moment in the life of the Monsanto community (a village located in Portugal).
The film reveals fragments of some people’s life, trying to show the place of memories, several concepts of tradition, the importance of entertainment through chanting, game and dancing. The characters stage many times, but the actual staging was already there - their traditions only take place at all through staging.
We seek to show that these old people do not mind to share their time or explain what gives meaning to their lives. But these people do not understand or accept that others want to usurp their traditions. It’s our tradition! This is a kind of outcry from those who don’t want to loose more life than that taken by time.
